The New Teacher’s Lounge is a reflective space designed to support second-career educators as they make sense of the daily demands of the profession. This community provides support, sanity, and solace for new teachers—no overwhelm allowed!
This group centers around thoughtful, real-world conversations about teaching—focused on clarity, decision-making, and sustainable practice rather than trends or quick fixes. I share insights from 25+ years in the education space to make visible the thinking behind instructional choices we make every day.
Much of what you'll see here is guided by a reflective framework called MODEL, which focuses on:
👓gaining clarity about what to do, when to do it, and how to respond to classroom demands
🗄️organizing time, space, and resources to support learning and classroom management
📝designing instruction with intention
💡engaging students responsively
📚grounding decisions in literacy and meaning-making
While this space is especially for new teachers, reflective veteran educators and teacher-educators are welcome if this approach resonates with your practice.
So if you’re looking for a calm, thoughtful place to learn how experienced educators think about teaching—and to grow your own professional judgment—come join us!
